Take the Vertical Challenge
Get AB-ulous!

Let your dog work those abs by letting him/her sit several times during a walk. This will help your dog train those ab muscles and get him a hot bod in no time!

With the majority of Singaporeans living in high-rise apartments, walking your dog up and the down the stairs is an easy and convenient exercise. The steps add an additional challenge to a dog’s workout, as they engage different muscles than those used on a regular walk or run and add an extra level of difficulty with the change in elevation. You can walk your dog on a leash or throw toys down to get him/her to play fetch.

Dog Exercise Tips

Dogs are born to be active as their natural ancestors spent lots of time scavenging, hunting for food, caring for offspring and playing with one another. Hence, dogs need an active lifestyle to allow physical and mental stimulation. Also, dogs have a lot of natural energy which they need to burn off. Therefore, it is important to give daily exercise to your dog for just 20-30 minutes a day! These exercises allow your dog to be fit and healthy and also ward off excessive behaviour like chewing and barking.

Sometimes old school dog toys like squeaky balls and frsibees are still the best. These are great for playing fetch and tug of war. It helps dogs to burn off their excess energy at home and can train them for more difficult tasks.

After a good time of exercise, don't forgot to refill your dog's water bowl. This is especially crucial in Singapore as the hot weather can dehydrate your dog quickly. If you're going out to play, don't forget to carry some water and your dog's bowl with you!
